As the year draws to a close, New Door reflects on the incredible journey of our organization and the youths we support. One of those young people is Guillermo, whose journey brought him to New Door in search of a community supportive of his chosen path. He joined our Workforce Development internship program to pursue his passion for cooking. Michelin-rated restaurant Osito was the perfect internship site for Guillermo, where he connected quickly with celebrated Chef Seth Stowaway. After having an internship experience that most of us could only dream of, Guillermo’s journey to independent adulthood and economic mobility is well underway.
With your unwavering support and the expertise of our staff, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones and have countless stories like Guillermo’s to celebrate. The impact your support enables us to have on the lives of young people is nothing short of extraordinary. For New Door and the youth we serve, 2023 has been a year of transformation and resilience. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing global pandemic, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empower the next generation of leaders, changemakers, and skilled professionals.
