What Business Partners Do
What New Door Does
How it Works
Youth visit New Door for an overview of our employment program. They receive an application to fill out and bring it back for an interview.
The interview gives New Door staff a chance to get to know the youth and their background. Staff learn how to best support the young person moving forward.
Youth participate in an 18-hour orientation with 10-20 peers, where they learn soft skills and about available internship opportunities.
Once the youth is matched to a worksite business partners, they will meet with their workforce advocate and work site supervisor to discuss expectations and create a work schedule.
100+ national and Bay Area companies and organizations have joined our movement to drive economic opportunity for youth
“It was really amazing to see how we were matched with an intern who was the right fit for our company and had the skills needed to be successful here. It helped me see firsthand the broad range of people who are getting involved with New Door and I'd recommend the experience to any company, as I'm sure you'll find a good match!”
